VIVIAN CANNON is Executive Vice President of Drama Development at Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group. In this role, she is responsible for the studio’s drama series development across broadcast, cable and streaming platforms. She reports directly to Erin Underhill, President of Universal Television.

Cannon has been a driving force behind the development of many critically acclaimed drama series, including the Emmy® Award-winning “The Gilded Age,” Emmy-nominated “New Amsterdam,” and commercial hits like “Bel-Air,” “The Equalizer,” “We Were Liars,” “The Hunting Party,” “Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist” and “The Best Man: The Final Chapters,” which made history as Peacock’s first-ever series to crack Nielsen’s Top 10 streaming chart. Cannon’s team supports a roster of visionary producers, including Dick Wolf, Darren Star, Jenna Bans, Julie Plec, Carla Banks Waddles, Debra Martin Chase, Kevin Williamson, Robert Greenblatt and more.

Before joining Universal Television in 2017 as Senior Vice President of Drama Development, Cannon was a highly respected television producer, developing and producing pilots and series for leading networks such as HBO, Showtime, NBC, ABC and FX. She was an executive producer on the AMC drama “Preacher,” having developed and produced the pilot, as well as Showtime’s “The Big C,” which earned a highly coveted AFI Award.

Cannon double majored in English Literature and Drama at the University of Virginia. She is based in Los Angeles.
