SARA MURPHY is a film and television Producer based in Los Angeles. Murphy produced Paul Thomas Anderson’s Licorice Pizza, which was nominated for three Academy Awards, including Best Picture. She produced Eliza Hittman’s Never, Rarely, Sometimes, Always which was released by Focus Features, premiered at Sundance and Berlin film festivals, and was nominated for seven Independent Spirit Awards, including Best Picture. She received a Grammy nomination for her work as a producer on Paul Thomas Anderson’s ANIMA, starring Thom Yorke, which was released internationally on IMAX and Netflix. She produced Barry Jenkins’ If Beale Street Could Talk, which was nominated for three Academy Awards and won an Independent Spirit Award for Best Picture. She was nominated twice for the John Cassavetes Independent Spirit Award, winning for Land Ho! Murphy also produced Niclas Larsson’s debut, Mother, Couch which premiered at TIFF in 2023. Most recently, she premiered Mary Bronstein’s A24 feature, If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, starring Rose Byrne and A$AP Rocky at Sundance Film Festival, and Oliver Hermanus’ History of Sound in Cannes Competition 2025. Her most recent production, Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another was released by Warner Brothers in Fall 2025 for which she won a Producers Guild Award, a BAFTA award, and an Academy Award.
