AMY GRAVITT is Executive Vice President, HBO Programming, Head of HBO & Max Comedy Series for Warner Bros. Discovery, responsible for developing and overseeing the production of HBO and Max Original comedy series. She has overseen HBO Original comedy programming since May 2016, and in August 2022, Gravitt assumed additional oversight of Max Originals comedy slate.
She currently oversees series including the newest seasons of the iconic “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” Nathan Fielder’s breakout “The Rehearsal,” fan favorite “The Righteous Gemstones”, and critical darling “Somebody Somewhere”. Last year saw the final seasons of the highly acclaimed and Emmy award-winning “Barry” and the genre-defying “How To with John Wilson.”
Coming up for HBO is new series “The Franchise” from Sam Mendes & Armando Iannucci. Also in the works are two new pilot collaborations – “The Chair Company” with Tim Robinson and an untitled project with Rachel Sennott.
Previously, she oversaw the groundbreaking and brand-defining series “Veep,” “I May Destroy You,” “Insecure,” “Silicon Valley,” “Eastbound & Down” and “Entourage,” as well as beloved comedies “Sally4Ever,” “Los Espookys,” and “Flight of the Conchords.”
Gravitt originally joined HBO in 2004. Prior to HBO, she spent several years in the U.S. Navy, serving onboard the aircraft carrier USS Constellation (CV-64) rising to the rank of Lieutenant. She deployed to the Persian Gulf in 1997, in support of Operation Southern Watch. She began her career in entertainment at Section Eight, George Clooney and Steven Soderbergh’s production company. She graduated from Duke University with a BA in Political Science.
