JACK THORNE is an award-winning British playwright, screenwriter and producer. His latest work, the four–part miniseries, ADOLESCENCE, has become Netflix’s third most-watched show of all time, since being released in March. Starring co-creator Stephen Graham, Owen Cooper, Erin Doherty and Ashley Walters, the series earned widespread acclaim for its raw and emotional portrayal of modern teenage life. Adolescence builds on Thorne’s celebrated television works, which include acclaimed titles such as NATIONAL TREASURE, THIS IS ENGLAND (‘86, ‘88 and ‘90), HELP, and HIS DARK MATERIALS among many others.
Thorne’s theatre work includes Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (Palace Theatre, London and Lyric Theatre, New York), which won both the Olivier® and Tony® Awards for Best Play; A Christmas Carol (Old Vic Theatre); After Life (National Theatre, London); and Let The Right One In (Manchester Royal Exchange, the Royal Court, and the Apollo Theatre). His storytelling has earned him five BAFTA® Awards, an International Emmy® Award, and the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain’s Award for Outstanding Contribution to Writing. In 2022, he was honored by the Royal Television Society for Outstanding Contribution to British Television, and in 2023, he was named an honorary fellow of the National Film and Television School.
