Sarah Green

Sarah Green has been producing films since 1989. After learning her craft with American Playhouse productions including the Emmy Award-winning Andre’s Mother, Green partnered with Maggie Renzi to produce City of Hope, Passion Fish and The Secret of Roan Inish, all written and directed by John Sayles. She then began a five picture run with David Mamet, co-producing The Spanish Prisoner and American Buffalo, and producing State and Main, The Winslow Boy, and Oleanna. Green produced Girlfight, which won major prizes at the Sundance, Deauville and Cannes Film Festivals. Her next film, Frida, directed by Julie Taymor, was nominated for six (winning two) Academy Awards, five British Academy of Film & Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards (winning one), and two Golden Globes (winning one). She then produced Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights, followed by The New World, written and directed by Terrence Malick, which was nominated for an Academy Award, won a National Board of Review and an ALMA award, and was nominated for five Breakthrough Performance awards. Currently, Ms. Green is in post-production on her second film with Malick, The Tree of Life starring Brad Pitt and Sean Penn, and is prepping a third. Green serves on the boards of the Producers Guild of America, the Austin Film Society, and Wellspring House.
