Cathy Schulman is a veteran producer and film executive. Currently President of Mandalay Pictures, where she oversees the company's studio and independent pictures, Schulman's background includes executive jobs at companies including Sovereign Pictures, The Samuel Goldwyn Company, Savoy Pictures and APG, as well as Sundance, where she was co-director of programming in the late 80's and early 90's. Schulman has produced 13 films including CRASH, for which she won the Best Picture Academy Award in 2006, THE ILLUSIONIST, THUMBSUCKER and DARFUR NOW. Her current film, SALVATION BOULEVARD, directed by George Ratliff and starring Pierce Brosnan, Jennifer Connelly, Greg Kinnear, Ed Harris and Marisa Tomei, is world premiering at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival. Mandalay Vision's ANOTHER HAPPY DAY, directed by Sam Levinson and starring Ellen Barkin, Demi Moore, Ellen Burstyn, Thomas Hayden Church and Kate Bosworth, is also in competition at this year's festival. Schulman is the President of Women In Film, on the Boards of the PGA and Film Independent, a member of AMPAS, a professor at the UCLA School of Film and Television and a USC Stark Program Mentor.
