Tom Lynch

Tom Lynch didn’t set out to be a revolutionary. Nevertheless, as a prolific award-winning creator- writer-producer-director, his relevant vision and fierce style earned him the title of inventor of the “tween” genre from The New York Times. Tom first dove into kids’ programming with the creation of KIDS Incorporated, the first variety show for youngsters, and he has been redefining youth-centered content ever since.

Tom’s projects have led the industry in dynamic new directions, from his GLADD-nominated series South of Nowhere to the landmark Nickelodeon show The Secret World of Alex Mack. Tom credits that show’s strong female lead to the first Girls Inc. Los Angeles Celebration Luncheon, which inspired him to recast the role from a boy to a girl. His numerous other credits range from documentary film (Piece of Mind) to television animation (Class of 3000), and he recently wrapped production on the movie Black Souls for Spike TV. His new series for Nickelodeon, The Troop, premiered in September 2009.
