Scott Kirsner is a journalist who writes about innovation, with a special focus on the ways that new technologies are changing the entertainment industry. His most recent book is Fans, Friends & Followers: Building an Audience and a Creative Career in the Digital Age. His 2008 exploration of the role that new technologies have played in Hollywood, Inventing the Movies, was featured on National Public Radio, the New York Times’ “Tech Talk” podcast, and as part of Google’s Authors@Google series. Scott has written for Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, and he edits the blog CinemaTech. He is part of the team that organizes The Conversation, an occasional gathering that explores new trends in film and online video. His writing has also appeared in Wired, Business Week, Newsweek, Fast Company, and The Los Angeles Times.
