John Ziffren

John Ziffren has worked in the entertainment industry for over thirty years having been involved with the production of nearly one thousand episodes of prime time programming. Included in John’s many credits is The Larry Sanders Show for which he received six Cable Ace awards, five Emmy nominations and a Peabody Award. In addition to his television experience, John served as Vice President of Production for Z.com, an Internet entertainment company, producing over sixty series covering a full spectrum of program types and production styles.

John started his career at Spelling/Goldberg Productions where he stayed for almost ten years. He then joined Brillstein-Grey where he spent nine years during which he personally produced The Larry Sanders Show as well as supervising the production of their other primetime television programs. Next, at Twentieth Century Fox Television, John developed and produced numerous pilots and series. Since 2007, he has been Executive Producing multiple pilots and series for ABC Family, five of which are currently in production.

John’s charitable work includes participation at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences where he was elected to the Board of Governors four times and served four terms as the Chairman of the National Awards Committee. He served on the TEC Council and participated in the formation of the Interactive Media Peer Group. He is very active with the Producers Guild of America, served as President of the Television Series Jury at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival, and served on the Board of Advisors of the AFI/Intel Enhanced Television Workshop.
