Jared Underwood is Senior Vice President and Group Manager of Comerica Entertainment Group, a leading Los Angeles-based specialty finance group targeting the entertainment industry. Underwood has been with Comerica Entertainment Group (CEG), a division of Comerica Bank, for 16 years, during which time the group has financed over 750 films. Since 1995, CEG has syndicated to banks worldwide nearly $2.5 billion in film loans with zero losses in any of its syndicated loans. Notable films financed by the group include Academy Award winners Crash, Wallace & Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit, Gods and Monsters and Milk. Other more recent notable titles include Twilight and Twilight – New Moon, District 9, Iron Man, Nine, and Up In The Air.
Recent slate transactions underwritten and/or led by CEG include, a $135 million credit facility for Michael London’s AXON Film Finance fund, a $200 million credit facility for The Weinstein Company’s Asian Film Fund, a $75 million credit facility for Larry Levinson's LG Films, a $350 million credit facility for Media Rights Capital (co-led with JP Morgan), a $135 million credit facility for Nu Image films, and an up to $300 million credit facility for Relativity Media's Beverly Blvd 2 (co-led with Union Bank).
Born in Pocatello, Idaho, Underwood majored in Business Administration at the University of Southern California and resides in Los Angeles.
