Douglas Wick

Douglas Wick, with partner Lucy Fisher and their company Red Wagon Entertainment, is known for memorable, commercial fare and longstanding collaborations with some of the most accomplished filmmakers in the world. With its signature high quality and originality, Red Wagon has generated a wide range of movies: from Working Girl to Gladiator, from Stuart Little to Memoirs of a Geisha.

Previously, Wick produced Gladiator, which received 12 Academy Award nominations and won 5 Oscars, including Best Picture for Wick. It also won 2 Golden Globe Awards (including Best Picture); 4 BAFTA Awards (including Best Film) and the Producers Guild’s Darryl F. Zanuck Award.

Red Wagon’s family blockbuster Stuart Little, pioneered cutting-edge special effects to introduce Stuart Little as the first CGI leading man. Wick also produced the critically acclaimed Girl, Interrupted, launching Angelina Jolie, who garnered the picture both an Academy Award and a Golden Globe with her performance.

Wick’s first movie, Working Girl, directed by Mike Nichols, was nominated for 6 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and won Wick his first Golden Globe. Among many other films, Wick also produced Spy Game, with Brad Pitt and Robert Redford; Wolf, a second collaboration with Mike Nichols, this time with Jack Nicholson and Michelle Pfeiffer; Paul Verhoeven’s Hollow Man; and the original teenage witch sensation, The Craft.

After graduating cum laude from Yale University, Wick began his career as a coffee boy for filmmaker Alan Pakula. He earned his first credit as associate producer on Starting Over.
