Derek Freda is an American film, television and new media producer. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Derek started his career in independent films in Europe, living seven years in Spain, Italy and England. Since moving to Los Angeles Derek’s gone on to executive produce the Jackass film trilogy, as well as a number of television shows and specials such as Wildboyz and Steve-O: Decline and Rise. He has also served as the CEO and General Manager of jackassworld.com, a new media joint venture between Dickhouse Entertainment and Viacom. Earlier in his career he production-managed both film and television movies, including the Emmy- and DGA Award–winning Tuesdays With Morrie for Harpo Films, and The Moguls with Jeff Bridges. A member of the DGA, he lives in Burbank with his wife. He has an MA from Johns Hopkins and a B.A. from College of the Holy Cross.
