David Fenkel is a founder and partner of Oscilloscope Laboratories, Adam Yauch's film production and distribution company. Started in 2008, O-Scope recently released Academy Award nominees Oren Moverman's The Messenger (Best Supporting Actor Woody Harrelson and Best Original Screenplay) and Burma VJ (Best Documentary).
Previous O-Scope films include Kelly Reichardt's Wendy and Lucy, featuring Michelle Williams; Kurt Kuenne's documentary Dear Zachary; Flow: For Love of Water; and the Academy Award-nominated documentary The Garden.
Upcoming films include Sundance Film Festival opening night film Howl starring James Franco and Jon Hamm.
Prior to forming O-Scope, Fenkel was Vice President of THINKFilm where he distributed the Oscar-winning documentary Born into Brothels; the Oscar-nominated Half Nelson, starring Ryan Gosling; the Oscar-nominated documentaries Murderball, Spellbound, The Story of the Weeping Camel, The Aristocrats and Bright Young Things.
