Chris Thomes is an award-winning executive producer in new media entertainment. He helped conceive and develop Disney Xtreme Digital, a Flash-based framework and broadband content distribution system for the Walt Disney Company. He successfully re-launched the Muppets online experience, partnering with Muppet Studios and executive producing new short-form content, both linear and interactive. He designed and produced the award winning Playhouse Disney Preschooltime Online, a 3D and 2D animated, educational virtual world. Recently, Chris executive produced Jim Henson’s The Possibility Shop, a web-based original production focused on instilling creativity in kids and parents, and Disney’s U Rock the Summer, a user-generated content experience where kids sing along to music from the likes of Hannah Montana. Chris has earned four Disney Inventor Awards as well as the prestigious Reggie Award for his work in branded entertainment. Chris was also voted #27 in the 2007 Hollywood Reporter Digital Top 50 People in Hollywood list. His focus remains squarely on the creation and distribution of new media entertainment and the development of new business models which can monetize that content. Chris is Vice Chair for the Producers Guild New Media Council and sits on the PGA’s National Board of Directors.
